A care circle is the group of people who stay informed about someone’s care together. That can be family, a neighbor, or the aide who already comes by. When you invite someone, they get their own Kinse account and can see updates relevant to that person based on the permission you set. You are not the only person responsible for keeping everyone in the loop.

Care team and Care board

Care Circle has two sibling pages:
  • Care team: invite people and set permissions (Full Access, Can Update, View Only). This page covers invites.
  • Care board: share updates and hand off Asks for the people already in the circle. See Care board.

What care circle members can see

Everyone in a care circle sees updates based on their permission level. Depending on that level, members may view:
  • Alert notifications when Kinse notices a concern
  • How calls went after phone check-ins and medication reminders
  • Medication confirmations and related follow-up items
  • Care board updates and Asks for that person
What each member can change (medications, appointments, loved one details) depends on their permission level. On Care board, Ask for help is limited to Full Access; Share update is available more broadly.

Permission levels

When you invite someone to the care circle, you assign one of three permission levels. You can change this anytime from Care team.

How to invite a family member

1

Open Care team

From the app, go to Care Circle → Care team and select the loved one whose circle you want to manage.
2

Start an invite

Open the invite form for that person.
3

Enter their email address

Type the email address of the person you want to invite and choose a permission level. The default is Can Update.
4

Send the invite

Click Send Invite. Kinse sends them an email with a link to accept. Email invites are the only way to add care circle members.
5

They accept and set up their account

When your invitee clicks the link in the email, they complete a short setup to access Kinse. No password is required when they accept; they can add one later in account settings.
Care circle members are not billed. You can add up to 4 care team members per person, with a maximum of 8 care team members across your account. People you pay for (the people Kinse calls) are separate from care circle members. Manage members on Care Circle → Care team.

Managing existing members

To view, edit permissions, or remove a care circle member, go to Care Circle → Care team, select the loved one, and use the actions next to each member. Removed members lose access immediately.
